Genk of Belgium Nigerian forward Paul Onuachu showed why he is worth the amount Genk are demanding for his transfer with a goal in their 1-2 loss against Shakhtar Donetsk in the qualifiers for the UEFA Champions League.

Linked with a move away from the team before the close of the ongoing summer transfer window, €26 million is what Genk want as transfer fee. It has led to a stalemate in his plans to leave but he put all of those behind with a goal in the qualifiers for the group stages of the Champions League.

The Nigerian who scored 35 goals last season put Genk ahead in the 36th minute finishing off a pass from Juan Ito. A lead Genk maintained for over an hour.

Three minutes after the hour mark, Shakhtar Donetsk leveled via the spot through Tete to hand the Ukrainians a route back into the game played at the home ground of Genk.

They ensured they carry a healthy lead into the second leg billed for next week when with eight minutes left to play Alan Patrick scored what ended as the winner.
