Nigeria international forward Victor Osimhen has left his future at Italian Serie A side Napoli open in the wake of reported interest from several top teams in Europe owing to his fine run of form this season.
Osimhen took his goal count to 20 goals in 24 appearances this season with Napoli and it includes scoring 18 in the Serie A which he achieved by scoring in seven consecutive games . A feat that has never been achieved by any striker at the club.
After last night performance in the UEFA Champions League where he scored to propell his team to a 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, he was asked about his future at Napoli who are prime to win the Serie A this season with a huge 15 points separating them from second place Inter Milan.
The 23 year old didn’t rule out a move in the summer but insist that it’s all in the hands of his representatives and that of his club. He is reportedly on the radar of PSG, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
“Being the top scorer is not my priority, the team comes first.” Signed told ESPN:
“If I win the title of top scorer that’s fine with me, but I will be interested in winning trophies with the team. When you do well it’s normal that the best clubs look at you, attracting their interest gives me the motivation to do more for myself and for my team.
“I’m only focused on Napoli, they have the last word. At the end of the year we’ll see what happens, but it’s not up to me. It is up to the company. We just want to try and win every match, but we have to work hard”, he rounded up saying.
