On loan RB Leipzig forward Ademola Lookman has been given a new nickname by Leicester City Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho after his first goal for the team in the 2-0 win over Millwall in the Carabao Cup.

Iheanacho effect rebounded nicely for Lookman to claim his first goal for the club before Iheanacho rounded up a comprehensive win with a spectacular strike from range.

Now popular with the moniker “seniorman” , Iheanacho congratulated the forward who is linked with a switch of nationality to Nigeria by giving him a nickname is the Igbo dialect of Nigeria even though Lookman is of yoruba lineage.

” On to the next round. Congrats Ade bobo Aka Chukwu di’ya Anyi Apuo”, he wrote in his  congratulatory message to the forward on social media platform Instagram.

The pair will likely be international teammates soon as Lookman has already filed papers to switch nationality from England to Nigeria after playing for the youth teams of the Three Lions at several levels.

This much was made known by an assistant to the coach of the Nigerian team Tunde Adelakun in January this year, “Lookman has applied for the switch and all the documents are in order,” Adelakun said, as per AOI.

“It’s a positive step forward when he made his commitment to Nigeria and we are just waiting for a Fifa clearance.

“Once the go-ahead is sorted, it will be up to coach Gernot Rohr to decide if his club performance would earn him a call-up.

“He’s one of three former England youth players we’ve filed for but they are all aware of the caveat. All the players were told that they can only earn a place in the squad by playing regular club football.”
