Despite meeting the target of reaching the semi final of the tournament, Peseiro led the Super Eagles all the way to the final where they were beaten 2-1 by the host, however the option of a two year deal is up to him to decide.

As at the time of this report we can exclusively report that the coach no longer has a contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following the expiration of his extended deal which covers the period of the Africa Cup of Nations.

However talks are expected to be held on his future with the minister for youths and sports senator John Enoh keen on the coach staying on with the team set to return to action in March, when the qualifiers for next year Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco begins.
