Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has given insight into the future of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Karim Benzema at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The contracts of all veteran players will run out at the end of the 2022/23 season.

They have been pillars of the club’s success for more than a decade.

Addressing the press ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga game against Villarreal this weekend, the Italian said: “There is progress. They are talking. I see Benzema, Kroos and Modric as always.

“You have to evaluate them on what they do, not their age. But nobody in the world has their way of handling matches. You can’t buy that in the transfer market.”

The veteran manager, who has coached numerous clubs in Europe and is wanted by the Brazilian national team, said he believed “the three of them will continue at Real Madrid.”
