Nantes of France wing forward Moses Simon has been told to set his sights on playing for a team in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) if he decides to leave Nantes in the summer.

Simon has been in fine form for the French Ligue 1 side since his move to the team three seasons ago with the first year on loan from Levante before his permanent signing two summers ago.

He went to the Africa Cup of Nations and emerged as one of the stars of the Nigerian team despite Nigeria exiting the tournament at the round of 16 stage following a 0-1 loss to Tunisia.

His future has been of intense debate with reports of interest from top English Premier League side in Newcastle United and Leeds United, but ex Chelsea left back Celestine Babayaro says he should aim for a team playing in the UEFA Champions League.

” I think he has at that stage where he should focus on playing in the UEFA Champions League. The plan should be for him to play for a team that is a regular in European competition. He has come full circle and this is the time to make a giant leap”, Babayaro told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
