NBB of C congratulates Anthony Joshua

Nigerian Boxing Board of Control has congratulated WBA, WBO, IBF, and IBO heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua for successfully defending his title.

Joshua last Saturday recorded a 9th round knockout over his challenger, Kubrat Pulev to retain his title.

Speaking on the fight, President of NBB of C Dr. Rafiu Oladipo described the victory as a victory for all Nigerians both home and in Diaspora; saying that Nigerians are proud of him.

“We at the NBB of C are proud of Anthony Joshua and we urge him to continue winning all his subsequent fights.

“His victory has shown that he’s a worthy champion and we hope he will dominate the heavyweight division for a long time”, he said. The NBB of C also it is using this opportunity to invite Anthony Joshua to the World Boxing Federation Super featherweight title fight between Nigerian Rilwan Oyekole A.K.A Scorpion and Lukas Matias of Argentina slated for Ilaji Farms Hotel and Resort, Ibadan, Oyo State.

“We’re looking forward to him honouring our invitation for the WBF title fight because a lot of boxing fans will want to see their role model at the ringside and we hope he will accept the invitation”, OLadipo concluded.
