An old video of Nigerian fast-rising music star, Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, performing his hit song “Joha” during his university days has surfaced online.

The 27-year-old graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, rose to prominence early in 2022 following the release of his hit track “Omo Ope,” featuring YBNL boss Olamide, and has since become a force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian music industry.

The old video that’s currently making the rounds online shows Asake and his team performing “Joha” on the stage of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) years before the song became a hit.

It was gathered that that was the first time he performed the track, “Joha,” and a few years later, after he became a star, he modified the song, which is now a global hit.

Nigerian entertainer, Tunde Ednut, who shared the video online wrote, “Asake Throwback when he first did JoHA… It only blew up in his University. Years after, he became a mega superstar and he decided to redo the song and it became a global hit. GRACE!!!”

Reacting to the video, fans of the “Sungba” crooner commended his consistency.
