Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr says the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick doesn’t interfere with the selection of players for the team.

Rohr was reacting to stories in the Nigerian media where it was speculated that Pinnick has a say in players that get called up to the team who are through to next year Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Defending the Warri born administrator, Rohr said they have a professional working relationship with well defined roles hence Pinnick doesn’t interfere in his decision to pick players for the team.

He said in the five years he has been with the Super Eagles not for once has Pinnick interfered in his duty as he has outmost confidence in him.

“I’m working with him now for five years, and there is confidence, trust, and also for me, it’s important that he lets me work in my independence.

“I can choose my players, I can make my list, and I appreciate – also his loyalty”, Rohr told Owngoalnigeria.com.
