The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has picked a former coach of English Premier League side West Ham United as favourite to succeed Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The NFF are working on the terms of the termination of Rohr’s contract as coach of the Nigerian team with around one month to the Africa Cup of Nations and they have received lots of application for the post.
However, we gathered they have settled for a coach who was once upon a time at the helm of English Premier League side West Ham and he will meet with the President of the NFF Amaju Pinnick in London to discuss terms.
The one sickening point is still the issue of finance, same issue that has made it almost impossible to fire Rohr despite the fact that they want him gone and already told him so verbally. He turned down their offer to resign as it will see him lose some of his entitlements.
As at the time of the filing in of this report, the coach who is back in Germany haven’t been informed officially that his services are no longer required.
