Nigeria U17 Team Spank Kaduna Based Academy 9-0 In First Test Game Ahead Of U17 AFCON

The U17 team of Nigeria showed their goal scoring prowess in their first test game since resuming for camping ahead of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria, OGN reports.

Nigeria are the WAFU B champions after lifting the regional tournament in Ghana by beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final. The win sealed their spot at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations. The tournament is the qualifiers for the U17 World Cup.

In a bid to prepare adequately for the tournament, the team regrouped for preparation in Abuja last week and today tested their might against Kaduna based football Academy Ikon Allah at their training pitch.

They put 9 goals past the visiting academy with four of the goals coming in the first half of the game. The coach Nduka Ugabde led team has been in camp for a week now. Later today they will know their group opponents when the draws is made.

Ahead of the grouping, they have been seeded owing to their reputation as five times winner of the tournament at the world stage. Nigeria’s last triumph came in 2015, where the likes of Victor Osimhen and co were discovered.
