Nobody can accuse me of that – Mourinho speaks on Lukaku’s goalscoring form

Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, has pointed to Romelu Lukaku’s fine form in front of goal in a dig to his critics.

Lukaku, who worked with Mourinho at Chelsea and Manchester United, joined the Stadio Olimpico club this summer on an initial loan agreement.

The Belgian striker has scored four times in six appearances for Roma in a testing start to the season that has delivered eight points from seven games.

However, Mourinho believes those exploits prove he still knows what he is doing.

Mourinho told DAZN after Lukaku netted in a 2-0 victory over Frosinone: “I thought that I could be held responsible for Lukaku not scoring!

“At the very least, nobody can accuse me of that, because Romelu keeps scoring. He scores here, he scores at Manchester United, at Inter. Romelu scores everywhere. Fortunately, I am not a coach who can remove Romelu’s qualities.”
