The founder of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore has been reportedly shot in Abuja during a protest in the capital city.

Early photos emerging from the scene showed an injured Sowore, though LailasNews could not independently confirm the news as at the time of filing the report.

A Facebook Live video by Sanyaaolu Juwon which was monitored by our reporter showed the protesters had gathered around Unity Fountain in Abuja, as the Police locked the gate on them.

The protesters continued to chant at the security men before a squabble ensued and the Live video was ended abruptly.

Images and reports would later emerge on social media that Omoyele Sowore had been shot by a female officer.

This is a developing story, check back for more details….
