Onne Port receives biggest container vessel to ever land in Nigeria (photos)

The Onne port in Rivers state yesterday, received the biggest container vessel to ever land in Nigeria.

The ship called Maerskline Stardelhorn vessel has a 300m length and 48m width. The Maerskline Stardelhorn vessel was received at the Federal Ocean Terminal (FOT), Onne in Rivers State at 1620 hours on Saturday, August 15, 2020.

The vessel, which has a capacity of 9,971(TEUs) is a flagship from Singapore.The Vessel was received by Alhassan Abubakar to the port.  The Nigerian Ports Authority announced the arrival in a statement that read:

The Nigerian Ports Authority is pleased to announce the successful berthing of the biggest Container vessel to ever call at any Nigerian port.

The vessel, which has a capacity of 9,971(TEUs) is a flagship from Singapore.Thew Vessel was brought in from fairway Bouy with the aid of Three Tugboats operated by Three of the captains.
