Onuachu’s Brace Insufficient For Genk In As Antwerp Edged Six Goals Thriller

Paul Onuachu celebrated his new mega deal with Belgium side Genk with a brace but ended up on the losing side as they fall to a 2-4 defeat against Antwerp.

Linked with a move away from the team during the last summer transfer window after scoring 34 goals last season , a move away was made impossible due to Genk’s valuation and he ended up signing a new deal making him the highest earning player ever in the history of the team.

The Nigerian took his season tally to six goals in seven games with a strike in the 13th minute and another from the spot in the 80th minute but his effort counted for less. He is currently on a run that will see him equal or surpass last season tally.

A brace from Ritchie De Laet and further lone strike from Birger Verstraete, Koji Miyoshi and Michael Frey handed Antwerp the win in the absence of Nigerian midfielder Alhassan Yusuf.
