Patrick Cantlay has boosted his Fedex Cup hopes with a one-shot victory at the BMW Championship.
The American went into Sunday’s play with a one-shot lead, and a final round score of 69 was enough to secure the win ahead of Scott Stallings.
Bogeys at holes eight and 10 left Cantlay on the back foot, but birdies at the 11th, 14th and 17th ensured that he got over the line in this tournament for the second successive year.

Despite his runners-up spot earning him a place at East Lake for the Finals, Stallings will be disappointed having failed to take opportunities on each of the final hour holes.
