The list of players who will represent Nigeria when they take on Saudi Arabia in an international friendly game in Portugal has been trimmed down to just 24 from the provisional list of 35, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Nigeria will use the game to prepare for the start of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in November, where they begin their quest to be at the tournament with a game at home against Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo.

Head coach of the team Jose Peseiro sent out invitations to 35 players but has now trimmed the list to 24 players, and they will be sent flight tickets for the game.

In the list we gathered, the coach brought back five players who weren’t part of the team that defeated Sao Tome and Principe 6-0 in the final game in the AFCON qualifiers.

Players returning include captain of the team Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, Terem Moffi, Kenneth Omeruo and Bright Osayi-Samuel. They were all not part of the sqaud for the last game for various reasons.
