President Buhari Mohammadu has strongly condemned the attack on Government Science Secondary School, Kankara in Katsina State by bandit in the early hours of Saturday, December 12.
Buhari has urged the army and the police to go after the attackers to ensure that none of the children kidnapped gets missing or harmed.
In a statement released by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, says the President urged the school authorities to carry out an audit of the population of the students after the shooting took place.
“I strongly condemn the cowardly bandits’ attack on innocent children at the Science School, Kankara. Our prayers are with the families of the students, the school authorities and the injured,” said President Buhari while pledging to continue to support the security forces against terrorists and bandits.
According to the statement, the President has been briefed by Governor Aminu Bello Masari, and the Army Chief of Staff, General Tukur Buratai, and the military. The bandits’ enclave had been reportedly located at Zango/Paula forest in Kankara and there has been a shooting exchange.
However, according to the statement there is no casualty yet and the president has directed more reinforcements of security in all schools in other to secure students.
