Sources close to the camp of the senior national team of Nigeria say head coach of the team Gernot Rohr is behind the invitation of Suleiman Shuaibu to the camp of the B team of Nigeria ahead of next month friendly game against Mexico.

Shuaibu is the goalkeeper of Lagos based footballs academy names Prince Kazeem Eletu FC. His invitation as part of the goalkeepers sparked an angry reaction from the football authority in Nigeria.

Their annoyance in the invitation of the goalkeeper to the senior team is hinge on the fact that he plays for a non league side, and skipping all the goalkeepers which is around 60 in the Nigeria Professional Football League for a non league goalkeeper is unacceptable.

“ It’s unacceptable but the coaches said he was recommended to them by Rohr so they have to obey him as the senior coach in the national team set up. Even at that it’s unacceptable and we have warned them about it going forward”, a source told OwnGoalNigeria.com.
