Legendary football superstar Ronaldo de Lima has contacted the entourage of Almeria Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar over a switch to his team Real Valldolid.

Ronaldo who is the owner and president of the La Liga club tried to lure the 23 year old Nigerian striker to his club last week but met a brick wall in Almeria who were not in anyway open to discussing a move away for the lanky forward.

17th placed Valladolid have goal scoring issues with their highest striker so far having just three goals and with Umar scoring 11 goals in 15 games for second division side Almeria in all competitions, he was their prime target to solve the crisis.

“ Yes we had talks with Ronaldo over Sadiq. He sees him as one striker every team needs but the deal he has with Almeria is so secure and even when inquiry was made it was dismissed almost immediately. Almeria want to return to the La Liga and Sadiq is part of their plans for that to happen”, his representative told Owngoalnigeria.com.

The top scorer for Nigeria at Rio 2016 Olympics signed a five year deal with Almeria who are pushing for a return to the La Liga with Sadiq helping them in their quest as well as a personal glory of finishing as top scorer.
