The expected transfer of Sadiq Umar from Almeria this summer after their failure to secure promotion to the La Liga has taken a different turn following interest by City Football Group (CFG).

CFG is the parent body that owns the English Champions and other teams around the world and they have now opened talks with Almeria owners over the signing of the 24 year old Nigerian.

The idea is to loan him to one of their sister teams in Troyes of France who were recently promoted to Ligue 1 and are in the market for a forward in the mould of the Nigerian.

Sadiq will according to the report which has now gone viral in Spain spend a season on loan to Troyes from where Man City will run the rule on his possible return to their team base on his success in Ligue 1.

An offer has been tabled to Almeria already and talks are progressing but it is worthy to note that they are not the only team interested in the forward who scored 20 goals in 38 League games last season.

La Liga duo Villarreal and Sevilla are also keen on his services as Almeria have also smoothen the chances of any potential deal by slashing his buy out clause to €30 million.
