Salernitana veteran, Franck Ribery, is set to announce his retirement.

Il Mattino says the Frenchman is ready to soon hang up the boots.

Ribery played a key role in Salernitana beating the drop last season, but has managed just two appearances this term and has struggled with a new knee strain.

Salernitana owner Danilo Iervolino, once Ribery’s deal is terminated, will offer him role as an assistant on Davide Nicola’s coaching staff.

Ribery’s experience and leadership in the locker room is highly appreciated and management are eager to keep him involved.
