Villarreal moved up to 3rd position in the Spanish LaLiga thanks to a 2-0 win over Real Valladolid earlier today with their Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze ending his eleven months goal drought.

Chukwueze gave the yellow submarine the lead in the 21st minute finishing off a cross from Alfonso Pedraza for his first goal of the season and his first in the league since scoring against Celta Vigo on the 24th of November 2019.

The Nigerian who has two assists to his name this season in all competitions has struggled for goals this season but he showed no sign of one battling a goal drought with the smart finish as he eyes bettering his total of three goals last season.

Pau Torres made it 2-0 with eight minutes left to play in the first half and they hanged on to claim all three points with Chukwueze playing for 64 minutes before making way for Takefusa Kubo.
