Sanwo-olu Set To start Payment Of N35,000 Minimum Wage To Lagos Workers

The Lagos State Government and the labour unions have finally reached an agreement on the implementation of the new minimum wage, as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has promised to begin payment of N35,000 as the new minimum wage starting from November 2019.
According to PM News, a conclusion was reached after a series of meetings and engagements between the Lagos State Joint Public Service Negotiating Council (JNC) and Lagos State Government.
The state chairman, JNC, Comrade Rasaq Adio Falade said necessary terms of settlement and agreement were reached after the end of the meeting.
He disclosed that the payment of the New Minimum Wage at the consequential adjustment rates shall commence in Lagos State in the November, 2019 salary cycle.
