American musician Selena Gomez is set to throw her hat into the beauty industry.

Strong speculations began last month after American glossy magazine WWD reported that the “Good For You” singer has filed a trademark with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for her name (Selena Gomez) under her July Moonproduction company. The trademark also cites a number of beauty products including “fragrances, cosmetics, skin-care preparations, hair-care preparations, soaps, moisturizers, and essential oils.”
Selena will have to compete with heavyweight celebrities with beauty lines including billionaire reality tv star Kylie Jenner (Kylie Cosmetics), and Rihanna (Fenty) who already have high stakes in the industry.
In 2011, the 27-year-old launched a fragrance line with Adrenalina Inc. She also signed brand ambassadorship deals with companies like Coach and Puma.
This will be her first beauty line.
