Nigeria international Shehu Abdullahi was on from start to finish as AC Omonia beat Anorthosis to lift the Super Cup in Cyprus for the first time in nine years following a 3-2 win on penalties.

Marko Scepovic gave Omonia the lead 13 minutes into the game but Andreas Chrysostomou leveled for Anorthosis two minute before the half time break. A score that remained same after full time.

28 year old Shehu wasn’t among those who took spot kicks for his team during shoot outs but he has now added the Super Cup shield to the league trophy he helped the team win last season.

He made a total of 34 appearances in all competitions yesterday showing his versatility by playing 25 times as a right full back , four times as a defensive midfielder and once in central midfield.

It was his debut season at the club following his arrival on a free transfer from Turkish side Bursaspor where he terminated his contract following their failure to return to the top flight after relegation.
