Cologne of Germany defender Kingsley Ehizibue has terminated the process of his switch of nationality from the Netherlands to Nigeria at senior level, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

Ehizibue was named by the coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr for the back to back AFCON 2021 qualifiers played in March last year before the postponement of the games.

He will however not be making his debut for Nigeria anymore as his present status as a citizen in the Netherlands forbids him from holding dual citizenship unless he rescinds it.

Already he has informed the Nigeria national team handlers of his decision to focus on the Dutch national team where he made one appearance for their U21 in 2016.

He has also removed the Nigerian flag from his social media handle with that of the Netherlands now firmly on his bio page. Another sign that the 26 years old has ended his dream of playing for Nigeria.
