The senior national team of Nigeria will later today continue their preparation for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers game against Sierra Leone on Sunday in Monrovia, OwnGoalNigeria.comreports.

The team have been training in Lagos since on Monday but the past two days has seen them take their preparation to the next level as they head close to the date of the game, which a win will see them seal a spot at the Africa Cup of Nations next year.

In training, head coach of the team Jose Peseiro has been very demanding and in their last two sessions had the players engage themselves in a practice match to push their fitness level up, with most of them joining the team from their holiday destination.

Wingers of the team have not been giving the full backs time to catch up with the pace as they appear to be ahead of the rest fitness wise. In particular the duo of Moses Simon and Samuel Chukwueze.

They have been a thorn in the flesh of Calvin Bassey, Ebube Duru, Kevin Akpoguma and Zaidu Sanusi forcing one among the quartet to confess that they are getting tortured in training. ” Boss, Chukwueze and Simon no get joy (not making it easy). They are punishing us so bad that we no longer chase them. It’s why Simon scored twice in yesterday’s training. I don’t have that energy yet”, he confessed.
