Ahead of their AFCON 2022 qualifiers game against Nigeria on the 27th of March, Squirrels of Benin Republic star Razak Omotoyossi says the Nigerian team is no longer a feared force in African football.

The 35 year old who has scored 21 goals in 58 international appearances since his debut in 2004 will be leading their assault against Nigeria who are looks for a point in their last two games to seal a spent at next year Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria will be expected to line up all their big name players based abroad but Omotoyossi insists that it will count for less when both teams meet believing that they can beat Nigeria as they are no longer deadly like before.

“ It’s about individual big name players but as a team they are no longer a threat. Sierra Leone proved that if you play without fear against them you’re sure going to get something out of it”, he said.

“ Our approach is going to be straight forward. A win is what we are pushing for and it’s possible. We started very well in the reverse tie by scoring first before their two goals to win 2-1. We need to start and finish well this time around”, he concluded.
