The vice captain of the senior national team of Nigeria William Troost Ekong has completed his transfer from Serie A side Udinese to Watford, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.

27 year old Ekong will travel to England tomorrow to officially join the English Championship side on a four year deal with the option of another bringing an end to his two year stay at Udinese.

His move comes as a surprise as he is leaving the Italian top flight league to the English second tier. Many believe it is the lure of returning back to England where he spent some of his time as a young footballer that made it possible.

He started his career with the Youth team of Fulham before moving to Tottenham Hotspur where he rose from the U18 to the U21 but couldn’t make the jump to the first team before moving to Dutch side Groningen on a free transfer.
