Twitter is experiencing issues globally with large numbers of users across the US,  Europe and Africa unable to post tweets, access their timelines, or see notifications.

The social media platform posted on their status’s page on Thursday October 15, said the company was“Investigating Irregularity with Twitter APIs.”

According to DownDetector.com, reports of problems with Twitter began to spike just after 5:30 p.m. ET, and soared to over 45,000 by 5:42 p.m.

This means that Nigerian Twitter is down but the problem is not caused by the government like some users are claiming.

var loaded = false; var loadFB = function() { if (loaded) return; loaded = true; (function (d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.5"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs); }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); }; setTimeout(loadFB, 0); $('body').on('bimberLoadFbSdk', loadFB); })(jQuery);
