Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has paid tribute to AC Milan striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, following his side’s Europa League round of 16 second-leg 1-0 win against the Serie A giants on Thursday night.

Solskjaer described Ibrahimovic as a ‘fantastic and very strong player,’ adding that he managed to defend against the Swedish international at San Siro.

Solskjaer’s men defeated AC Milan in Italy, thanks to Paul Pogba’s second-half goal.

The Red Devils qualified for the Europa League last-8 on 2-1 aggregate, having played a 1-1 draw in the first leg last week.

“Zlatan‘s a fantastic player and very, very strong, and he knows what he’s doing out there, so you always have to be on your toes and read the situations in a good way,” Solskjaer said at his post-match.

“But today, I managed to defend it well, and like I said, I’m very pleased for that.”
