Head coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Jose Peseiro has once again referenced the importance of God almighty as his team gets set to take on the Elephant of Cote d’Ivoire at the Africa Cup of Nations, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Nigeria heads into the game looking for a first win of the tournament after a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea in their opening game of the tournament. Ivory Coast on the other hand defeated Guinea-Bissau 2-0 to go top of the group.

Ahead of the game Peseiro was asked about the chances of his team getting the win, and he went the same route like he did after the stalemate against Equatorial Guinea by saying he hopes God almighty will give them the day against the host.

“Like I said earlier, God gives, God takes. We can only create the chances to score and hope God gives us this match against Cote D’Iviore”, he said while reacting to questions from the media.

He also confirmed our exclusive story on Antwerp midfielder Alhassan Yusuf who is expected to miss out on the game just like we reported earlier, he also said he is expected to be back for the final group game against Guinea-Bissau.
