Coach of Everton Carlo Ancelotti has explained the reason why he moved Nigerian international Alex Iwobi from his role as a playmaker to a right wingback.

Ancelotti has stucked with Iwobi as his preferred option at wingback as he bid to arrest the poor form that has seen Everton pick up just one win in their last six games.

Ahead of the game against Chelsea, the Italian coach explained that Iwobi has the ability to play anywhere he is required to fill in confirming his faith in the 25 year old.

He said the physical condition of the former Arsenal man means he can function as a winger or as a wingback depending on the opposition and the way they want to play.

“I think when Iwobi is fit, he can play everywhere. Sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right.

“In this moment I have a lot of confidence, because his physical condition is really good. He can help the team with his performances both at wingback and winger.”
