Zamfara holds National Assembly supplementary election amid vote-buying allegations

The supplementary election for Zamfara Central Senatorial zone commenced peacefully on Saturday.

There is also impressive voter turnout, especially women, in most of the polling units.

However, it turned rowdy at polling unit 012 when the agent of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, accused the All Progressives Congress, APC, of vote buying.

The alarm attracted the attention of the security operatives.

At Tabia 005 polling unit, the PDP agent also complained that money was exchanging hands, even though voting was going on smoothly and voters queued to cast their votes.
