La Liga giants Barcelona have turned their attention towards Leicester City Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi according to Spanish media outlet El Gol Digital.
In a publication made available to Owngoalnigeria.com, they reported that Barcelona hierarchy sees the Nigerian as a player who can bolster their options in midfield particularly in the holding midfield area.
Ndidi who has emerged as one of the key players for Leicester City the past three seasons has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, PSG and also Manchester United but Barcelona’s Interest appears to be the most concrete among all.
N’golo Kante was reportedly their first choice but they were put off by his age and the fact that Chelsea will no doubt demand a fee higher than what Leicester will ask for Ndidi.
Barcelona views Ndidi who is rated in the region of €60 million as affordable and a long term replacement for Sergio Busquet who is their only viable option in the holding midfield area going into the summer transfer window.
