Coach of CSKA Moscow Viktor Goncharenko has backed Chidera Ejuke to be a top player for club and country if he works on certain aspects of his game.

The coach who was instrumental in the signing of Ejuke from Dutch side Heerenveen hasn’t been too pleased with the impact of the Nigerian so far owing to his slow start to the season.

In the last three games, the coach has played the Nigerian from the bench but he is optimistic that he will come good with some little adjustments to his game.

Speaking on the back drop of their 1-1 draw with Sochi , he said Ejuke’s potential is clear for all to see but he need to apply himself properly in the opposition half if he want to be a top player for club and country.

“ The talent is there and you can see in the way he dribbles but there are decisions that are more important than dribbling. He has to be effective when in the opponent’s half. We are working on that”, the coach said.

“ He ( Ejuke) recently returned from playing for Nigeria and it’s part of the step that will make him a better player if he improves on that area of his game. It’s possible”.
