A former Commissioner for Health in Oyo State, Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has declared his gubernatorial ambition ahead of the 2023 elections.

Adeduntan insisted that he will contest on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), adding that the major cause of death in Nigeria is a heart attack.

He claimed he is always brought to tears whenever he passes through roads in the state because many access routes are no longer motorable.

While addressing a press conference in Ibadan on his gubernatorial intentions, Adeduntan regretted that many people could not walk freely in the state, because the roads have moved from bad to worse.

He said it was unfortunate that local government administration has been relegated to the background, which is why no one can see their achievements presently.

Adeduntan said “I cry every day I pass through Oyo state roads because most of the roads are no more motorable. People cannot move freely in the state because the roads are bad.

“Even animals, God gave them legs for them to move freely how much more human beings. The worse you can do to a man is to prevent him from walking freely from one place to the other.

“Local governments are no more effective in Nigeria because they have been made useless. They have relegated them to the background. We will look for money to construct roads.
